The second single off my upcoming album! I wrote this song in about a half an hour while my partner was away visiting her family, and I was stuck at home missing her. It was cold outside and I was sitting on my bed in my room, feeling kind of moody as I watched falling leaves dance in the cold air outside, so this song ended up combining a lot of cold fall imagery with the hollowness of missing someone.

The trees are bare cause all their leaves fell in my hair and I can’t see
The night is dry ‘cause all it’s moisture’s in my eyes
I mourn the loss of all I used to be

The crisp dark cold is putting wrinkles in my clothes and on my face
My socks aren’t thick enough and neither is my skin

I stumble over sentences like stones down in my shoes are in my brain
